Dough:
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
Filling:
- 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted if desired)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
Glaze:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, softened butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Prepare the Filling:
- Roll out the risen dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread melted butter over the dough. Sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and chopped pecans, then drizzle with maple syrup.
- Form the Rolls:
- Roll the dough up tightly from one long side to the other, then cut into 12 equal slices.
- Place the slices in a greased baking pan, leaving space between each slice. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.
- Prepare the Glaze:
- While the buns are baking, heat butter, maple syrup, and heavy cream in a saucepan until smooth and warm.
- Pour the glaze over the warm buns immediately after they come out of the oven.

- Toasting the pecans before adding them to the filling can enhance their flavor.
- Ensure your milk is warm (not hot) to activate the yeast.
- For an extra gooey center, you can add a dollop of cream cheese to the filling if desired.
