Description
Create visually stunning marbled effect candy apples that combine sweet, crisp apples with a vibrant candy coating. Perfect for parties, holidays, or a fun treat!
Ingredients
Scale
- Apples (8 medium, firm)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- Red food coloring (a few drops)
- Black food coloring (a few drops)
- Parchment paper (for lining the baking sheet)
- Lollipop sticks (8-10)
Instructions
- Prepare Apples: Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert lollipop sticks into the stems, pushing them in halfway. Place the apples on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Make Candy Mixture: In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil and cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Cool and Color: Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Divide the mixture into two bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl and black food coloring to the other, mixing until combined.
- Marble Apples: Drizzle the colored sugar mixtures over the apples in a random pattern, alternating between the red and black. Allow excess candy to drip off.
- Let Harden: Let the apples sit at room temperature until the candy hardens completely, about 30-45 minutes.
Notes
- Ensure the apples are completely dry for the candy to adhere properly.
- Adjust the colors as desired for different occasions.
