Dive into this fast-food favorite made right at home!

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (80/20 mix for juiciness)

4 slices of American cheese

4 hamburger buns

Dill pickle slices

1 small onion, finely chopped

Ketchup

Mustard

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Divide the ground beef into 8 equal portions and form into thin patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the desired doneness is reached.
  • A minute before the patties are done, place a slice of cheese on 4 of the patties and allow it to melt.
  • Toast the hamburger buns lightly.
  • To assemble, place a cheese-topped patty on the bottom bun, followed by a non-cheese patty.
  • Add pickle slices, chopped onions, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For an authentic touch, lightly toast the buns on the grill after cooking the burgers.

Adjust the seasoning of the beef patties according to personal preference.
