Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 12 slider buns
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Make the Meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, fresh parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Form the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 1/2 inches in diameter). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or greased with olive oil.
- Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
- Assemble the Sliders: While the meatballs bake, slice the slider buns in half. Place the bottom halves of the buns on a baking dish or sheet. Once the meatballs are done, place 1 or 2 meatballs on each bun bottom. Spoon a little marinara sauce over each meatball and top with a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake the Sliders: Place the assembled sliders in the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the buns are slightly toasted.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and place the top halves of the slider buns on each slider. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can make the meatballs ahead of time and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake the sliders.
- For extra flavor, try adding some Italian seasoning or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
- You can use store-bought marinara sauce or make your own for a more personalized touch.
- Swap out the mozzarella for provolone or cheddar for a different cheesy twist.
