Description

These Meatball Sliders are the perfect game-day snack or party appetizer. Tender, flavorful meatballs nestled in soft slider buns and topped with melted mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce. They’re easy to make and sure to be a crowd favorite! Whether you’re feeding a crowd or just craving a tasty treat, these sliders will hit the spot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Make the Meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, fresh parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Form the mixture into small meatballs (about 1 1/2 inches in diameter). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or greased with olive oil.
  3. Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  4. Assemble the Sliders: While the meatballs bake, slice the slider buns in half. Place the bottom halves of the buns on a baking dish or sheet. Once the meatballs are done, place 1 or 2 meatballs on each bun bottom. Spoon a little marinara sauce over each meatball and top with a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake the Sliders: Place the assembled sliders in the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the buns are slightly toasted.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and place the top halves of the slider buns on each slider. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can make the meatballs ahead of time and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake the sliders.
  • For extra flavor, try adding some Italian seasoning or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
  • You can use store-bought marinara sauce or make your own for a more personalized touch.
  • Swap out the mozzarella for provolone or cheddar for a different cheesy twist.
