- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional)
- 20–24 ladyfingers
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- Cocoa powder, for dusting
- Chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks. In another bowl, mix mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until combined and creamy.
- In a shallow dish, stir together the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, being careful not to soak them too long.
- Line the bottom of a 9×9-inch baking dish with a layer of dipped ladyfingers.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone cream.
- Drizzle caramel sauce generously over the top layer.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings, if desired.
Notes
- For stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of regular brewed coffee.
- Add an extra drizzle of caramel sauce when serving for a stunning presentation.
