Ingredients
Scale
- 12 mini corn tortillas (or cut standard tortillas into small rounds)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 (5 oz) can tuna in water, drained
- 1 ripe avocado, mashed
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
- 1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup crumbled queso fresco (optional)
- Hot sauce or chipotle mayo (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush mini tortillas with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until crispy and golden. Let them cool slightly.
- In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mashed avocado, lime juice, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spoon the tuna mixture evenly onto each crispy tortilla.
- Top with crumbled queso fresco if using, and drizzle with hot sauce or chipotle mayo.
- Garnish with additional cilantro if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For added freshness, top with diced tomatoes or a squeeze of lime before serving.
- You can use fresh ahi tuna instead of canned tuna for a more gourmet version—just sear and finely dice it.
- Make the tostada shells ahead of time and store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
