For the cake:
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder

- 1/2 cup milk
For the topping:
- 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

For the frosting:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, cocoa powder, and granulated sugar. Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add flour, salt, baking powder, and milk, and mix until combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake the cake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cake is still warm, sprinkle mini marshmallows over the top and return it to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes, just until the marshmallows soften.
- Remove from the oven and let the cake cool slightly.
- For the frosting: In a saucepan, melt butter and cocoa powder over medium heat. Stir in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the frosting over the warm cake. Top with chopped nuts if desired.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
