- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Brown chicken on both sides, about 5 minutes per side, then remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until softened.
- Stir in tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and beef broth; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over the top.
- Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the sauce.
- Use boneless chicken thighs if preferred; adjust cooking time accordingly.
- Add mushrooms to the sauce for extra depth.
