Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground sausage (spicy or mild, your choice)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional for extra flavor)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp hot sauce (optional, for added spice)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set the sausage aside to cool slightly.
- Prepare the Dip Mixture: In a large bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cooked sausage and hot sauce (if using).
- Assemble the Dip: Transfer the dip mixture into a baking dish (a 9×9-inch dish or similar size works well). Spread it evenly in the dish.
- Bake the Dip: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the dip for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly. If you like a slightly crispier top, you can broil the dip for 1-2 minutes at the end.
- Garnish and Serve: Once the dip is done, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top (optional). Let it cool slightly before serving. Serve with crackers, chips, or sliced bread for dipping!
Notes
- If you prefer a milder dip, use a mild sausage instead of spicy sausage and omit the hot sauce.
- This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days before baking. Just bake it when you’re ready to serve!
- For a more savory twist, you can add diced jalapeños or bell peppers to the dip mixture.
- This dip is also great with veggies like celery or carrots for dipping.
