Description

This flavorful Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles dish combines savory ground beef, a rich, slightly sweet sauce, and tender linguine, making it a perfect quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the Pasta: Cook the linguine according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  • Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add Aromatics and Sauces: Add the minced garlic to the browned beef and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Mix well to combine all flavors.
  • Thicken the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Pour this into the skillet, stirring until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Combine with Noodles: Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat the noodles well in the sauce.
  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra spice, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
