- 8 oz egg noodles or your choice of noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Red pepper flakes to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Add minced garlic and ginger; sautรฉ for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, water, brown sugar, hoisin sauce (if using), and sesame oil.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the beef, stir to combine, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss well to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Sprinkle with sliced green onions and red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
- For added veggies, toss in sliced bell peppers, shredded carrots, or snap peas.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Adjust sweetness and saltiness by modifying brown sugar and soy sauce quantities to taste.
