Description

Monster Burgers are a spooky and fun twist on traditional burgers, perfect for Halloween or any kid-friendly gathering. Featuring mozzarella “eyes” and cheddar “fangs,” these burgers are both playful and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20) or turkey (for 4 patties)
  • Salt and pepper (or smoked hickory sea salt for extra flavor)
  • 12 mini bocconcini mozzarella balls (or any small mozzarella ball)
  • 6 medium black olives, halved
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 pickle slices (for the “tongue”)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese, cut into triangles (for the “fangs”)
  • Toothpicks for securing the eyes

Instructions

  • Prepare the Burger Patties:
    • Form 4 patties from the ground beef or turkey, making them slightly larger than the buns. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the Patties:
    • Pan-fry: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes per side. Rest until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
    • Grill: Preheat grill to 400°F (204°C). Grill patties for 5-6 minutes per side. Rest until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
    • Air Fry: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Cook patties for 6 minutes per side. Rest until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
    • Smoke: Smoke patties until internal temperature reaches 160°F, then let rest until 165°F.
  • Assemble the Monster Faces:
    • Eyes: Use toothpicks to stack halved black olives on mozzarella balls, then secure them on the burger buns.
    • Teeth: Cut cheddar cheese into triangles and place under the top bun to create “fangs.”
  • Assemble the Burgers:
    • Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, then add the cooked patty, tomato slice, and pickle slice. Top with the “fang” cheese triangles and place the “eyeball” bun on top.
  • Serve:
    • Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
