Description

These Monster Rice Krispie Treats are a spooky and fun Halloween dessert, perfect for parties. The green-colored, gooey treats are shaped into monster forms and decorated with candy eyeballs, making them a delightful and eerie addition to your Halloween festivities.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 package mini marshmallows (10 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green food coloring (adjust for desired color)
  • Candy eyeballs (various sizes for decoration)

Instructions

  • Melt the Marshmallows:
    • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and mini marshmallows. Microwave for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through, until fully melted and smooth.
  • Add Flavor and Color:
    • Stir in the vanilla extract and green food coloring until well mixed. Adjust the food coloring to achieve the desired green color.
  • Mix with Cereal:
    • Fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated with the green marshmallow mixture.
  • Shape the Monsters:
    • Let the mixture cool for about 5 minutes. Spray a 1/3 measuring cup and your hands with nonstick spray. Scoop the mixture with the measuring cup and shape it into blobs or monster shapes using your hands. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Decorate the Monsters:
    • Press candy eyeballs of various sizes into the treats to create fun and spooky monster faces.
  • Cool and Set:
    • Allow the Monster Rice Krispie Treats to cool at room temperature for about an hour before serving.

Notes

  • Consistency: If the mixture is too sticky, let it cool a bit longer or use nonstick spray on your hands for easier shaping.
  • Decoration: Use a variety of candy eyeballs for different monster looks.
