Description

Mozzarella Fried Cheese Bites are the ultimate indulgence—crispy on the outside with a gooey, melty cheese center. These bite-sized morsels are perfect for snacking, serving at parties, or as a fun appetizer. Serve them with marinara sauce for dipping, and prepare to watch them disappear in seconds!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese block, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheese: Cut the mozzarella cheese block into bite-sized cubes, about 1 inch each. Set aside.
  2. Set up the breading station: In one shallow bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat the egg. In a third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bread the cheese: Dredge each cube of mozzarella in the flour, then dip it into the egg, and finally coat it in the seasoned breadcrumb mixture. Repeat with all the cheese cubes.
  4. Heat the oil: In a deep frying pan or skillet, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread—if it sizzles and turns golden, it’s ready.
  5. Fry the cheese: Carefully drop a few breaded cheese cubes into the hot oil at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Use a slotted spoon to remove the cheese bites and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve: Serve the mozzarella fried cheese bites immediately with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy the cheesy goodness!

Notes

  • For extra crunch, you can double-bread the cheese by dipping it back into the egg and breadcrumbs after the first coating.
  • If you don’t have a deep fryer, a large skillet works great for frying these bites as well.
  • Be sure not to overcook the cheese bites, or the cheese may ooze out completely during frying.
  • These bites are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven to get them crispy again.
