Description

This Mozzarella Omelet is a simple yet satisfying breakfast or brunch option. Packed with rich, creamy mozzarella cheese, this omelet is light, fluffy, and full of flavor. Whether you enjoy it as a quick meal on a busy morning or as a weekend treat, this omelet is a delicious way to start the day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional, such as parsley, chives, or basil)
  • 1 tablespoon milk or water (optional, for fluffier eggs)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Eggs:
Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them together with a pinch of salt and pepper. For fluffier eggs, you can add 1 tablespoon of milk or water to the mixture.
  2. Cook the Omelet:
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the butter or olive oil. Once melted and the pan is hot, pour in the egg mixture, tilting the pan to spread the eggs evenly. Allow the eggs to cook for about 2-3 minutes without stirring, until the edges start to set.
  3. Add the Mozzarella:
Once the eggs are nearly set but still a little runny on top, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over one half of the omelet.
  4. Fold and Serve:
Carefully fold the omelet in half, covering the cheese. Let it cook for another minute or so to allow the cheese to melt. If desired, garnish with fresh herbs for extra flavor.
  5. Serve:
Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can add vegetables like spinach, tomatoes, or mushrooms to the omelet before folding for extra flavor and nutrients.
  • If you prefer a more decadent omelet, add a few slices of prosciutto or bacon for a savory twist.
