Description

These delightful Mushroom Puff Pastry Appetizers are perfect for any gathering! With a flaky pastry filled with savory sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, they make an irresistible bite-sized snack that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped mushrooms and sauté until golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic, dried thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook for another minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into small squares or rectangles.
  • Spoon a small amount of the mushroom mixture onto each pastry square. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Fold the pastry over the filling to create triangles or rectangles. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
  • Place the pastry bites on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Ensure the puff pastry is fully thawed before using to make it easier to handle.
  • Feel free to experiment with different cheeses or herbs to customize the flavor!
