Crispy fried jumbo shrimp tossed in a rich Hennessy and honey sauce, perfect for a flavorful twist.
Ingredients

- 1 lb jumbo shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails on)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- For the Sauce:
- 1/4 cup Hennessy cognac
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse shrimp, pat dry, and soak in buttermilk for 10-15 minutes.
- Mix flour, cornstarch, and spices; dredge shrimp in this mixture.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry shrimp for 2-3 minutes until golden.
- Drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan, combine sauce ingredients and heat until smooth.
- Toss shrimp in the sauce and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Adjust cayenne and red pepper flakes to taste for heat.
