Description

This Nacho Spaghetti is the ultimate fusion dish, combining the deliciousness of spaghetti with the bold flavors of nachos! Loaded with seasoned beef, cheese, and all your favorite nacho toppings, this dish is a fun, family-friendly meal that’s sure to be a hit.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Spaghetti:

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey for a leaner option)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or homemade taco seasoning)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salsa (optional for added flavor)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional, for topping)
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños (optional, for topping)

For the Nacho Toppings:

  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
  • Tortilla chips (crushed for topping)
  • Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook Spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Beef: While the spaghetti cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Season the Beef: Stir in the taco seasoning and water, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture thickens. If you like a little extra flavor, stir in the salsa at this point.
  4. Combine Spaghetti and Beef: Add the cooked spaghetti to the beef mixture and toss until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
  5. Add Cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, allowing the cheese to melt into the pasta mixture. You can also top the dish with additional cheese and bake in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese if desired.
  6. Serve: Serve the nacho spaghetti in bowls, topping with sour cream, sliced jalapeños, sliced green onions, chopped tomatoes, black olives, crushed tortilla chips, and fresh cilantro.
  7. Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy the cheesy, zesty goodness!

Notes

  • For added heat, top with more jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.
  • If you’re looking for a vegetarian version, swap the ground beef for black beans or grilled vegetables.
  • This dish can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for 2-3 days.
