Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup (or honey), cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
- If using, sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the caramel mixture.
- Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Arrange them over the caramel mixture in a single layer.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Then, invert the baking dish onto a plate so the sticky buns are coated with the caramel sauce.
Notes
- For a more decadent flavor, drizzle extra caramel sauce on top before serving.
- These sticky buns can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- Feel free to substitute the nuts for other add-ins like chocolate chips or dried fruit if desired.
