Description

    • 1 cup warm water
    • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 large egg
    • 1/2 cup whole milk
    • 4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • For the Filling:
    • Nutella
  • For Dusting:
    • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Activate Yeast: Combine warm water, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Mix Ingredients: Add sugar, salt, egg, and milk to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine. Gradually mix in flour to form a dough. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  • Let Rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  • Roll and Cut: Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into squares.
  • Fill and Seal: Place a small amount of Nutella in the center of each square. Fold dough over Nutella and pinch edges to seal.
  • Fry: Fry beignets in hot oil (350°F) for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Drain and Dust: Remove beignets from oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
