Description
Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, these Nutella-filled waffles are a deliciously indulgent treat perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Nutella, as needed (about 1–2 teaspoons per waffle)
- Nonstick spray or butter for greasing waffle iron
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions and lightly grease it with nonstick spray or butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the milk, oil (or butter), and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Pour a small amount of batter onto the waffle iron, add 1–2 teaspoons of Nutella in the center, then cover with more batter to seal.
- Close the waffle iron and cook according to your machine’s instructions, usually 3–5 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
- Carefully remove and serve warm. Repeat with remaining batter and Nutella.
Notes
- To keep waffles warm, place cooked ones in a 200°F (95°C) oven while finishing the rest.
- For easier handling, freeze small Nutella dollops ahead of time and insert frozen into the batter to prevent spreading.
- Serve with sliced bananas, strawberries, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
