Description

This Oatmeal Apple Breakfast Bake is a warm and hearty dish that’s perfect for starting your day. Made with oats, apples, cinnamon, and a touch of maple syrup, it’s a wholesome, filling breakfast that’s easy to prepare and packed with nutrients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey for non-vegan option)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or almonds (optional for crunch)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional for added fiber and omega-3s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and optional chia seeds and nuts. Stir to combine.
  3. Add the chopped apples to the oat mixture and stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the almond milk into the mixture and stir everything together until well combined.
  5. Pour the oat mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the oats have absorbed most of the liquid.
  7. Let the oatmeal bake cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to swap the apples with pears or any other fruit of your choice.
  • You can make this the night before and bake it in the morning for a quick and easy breakfast.
  • For a richer flavor, try adding a handful of raisins or dried cranberries.
  • For a vegan version, ensure to use non-dairy milk and maple syrup.
