Description

Old School Pizza Burgers are a nostalgic and delicious twist on a classic burger, combining juicy beef patties with a zesty marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni. It’s a fun, easy-to-make meal that brings the flavors of pizza and burgers together in perfect harmony!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for toasting buns)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  3. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. During the last minute of cooking, spoon marinara sauce over each patty and top with shredded mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices. Cover and let the cheese melt.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, heat olive oil in a separate pan over medium heat and toast the hamburger buns until golden brown.
  6. Place the cooked patties on the toasted buns, then serve immediately and enjoy your pizza burgers!

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the toppings with other pizza ingredients, such as olives, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
  • To make it extra cheesy, add extra mozzarella or Parmesan on top of the sauce.
  • For a spicy twist, add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
