Description

One-Pan Creamy Meat & Potato Skillet is a hearty, comforting dish made with ground beef, tender potatoes, and a rich, creamy sauce—all cooked together in a single skillet. Perfect for busy nights when you want something filling and easy to clean up.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced (Yukon gold or russet work well)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes, until softened.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add the diced potatoes, garlic, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Pour in the beef broth, bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10–12 minutes or until the potatoes are fork-tender. Stir occasionally.
  5. Remove the lid, pour in the heavy cream, and stir. Simmer uncovered for another 3–5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, cover the skillet again, and let sit for 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.

  • You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or sausage.
  • Add chopped spinach or peas in the last few minutes of cooking for extra veggies.
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter version.
