Description
One-Pan Ground Beef and Spinach Pasta is a quick and hearty dish that combines lean ground beef, tender spinach, and pasta in a savory tomato sauce. This all-in-one meal is made in one pan for easy cleanup and is packed with protein, veggies, and flavor, making it perfect for a busy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 12 oz pasta (such as penne or rotini)
- 2 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the pasta to the skillet and stir to combine. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is tender, stirring occasionally and adding more broth if necessary to prevent the pasta from sticking to the pan.
- Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the chopped spinach and cook for 1-2 minutes until wilted.
- Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and toss to combine. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use lean ground turkey or chicken in place of ground beef.
- If you prefer a creamier dish, add 1/4 cup of heavy cream or cream cheese after the spinach wilts.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini to the mix.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
