- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 12 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped
- ½ cup (85g) mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
- Gently fold in the chopped Oreo cookies and mini chocolate chips (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Optionally, press a few extra Oreo pieces into the top of the batter for decoration.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
