Ingredients
- Oreo Sandwich Cookies (your favorite flavor)
- 2 cups white chocolate melting wafers
- 2 tablespoons paramount crystals¹
- 8-ounce package Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Minis
- Sprinkles (your choice)
- M&M’s Minis
- Sanding sugars
¹ Paramount crystals help to make the white chocolate smooth and glossy. If unavailable, you can substitute with coconut oil or shortening.
Instructions
- Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier. Set aside.
- Melt the White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate wafers and paramount crystals. Microwave on medium heat for 30 seconds, remove and stir. Return to the microwave and heat in 15-second increments, stirring each time, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Dip the Oreo Cookies: Using a fork or a dipping tool, dip each Oreo cookie into the melted white chocolate. Tap the fork gently against the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate. Transfer the dipped cookie to the prepared baking sheet.
- Decorate the Ornaments: Immediately press a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Mini onto the top of each Oreo, and then decorate with your choice of sprinkles, M&M’s Minis, and sanding sugars.
- Set the Chocolate: Allow the Oreo Ornaments to sit at room temperature until the chocolate hardens, or place the tray in the refrigerator for up to 15 minutes to speed up the setting process.
- Enjoy: Once the chocolate is completely set, the Oreo Ornaments are ready to enjoy! These make perfect festive treats or gifts.
Notes
- Chill the Cookies for Faster Hardening: If you’re in a hurry, place the tray in the refrigerator to set the chocolate more quickly.
- Variety of Oreos: Feel free to experiment with different Oreo flavors, such as Golden Oreos or mint-flavored Oreos, to add variety to the ornaments.
- Customize Decorations: Get creative with the decorations! You can use colored sprinkles, holiday-themed M&M’s, or even edible glitter for a more festive touch.
