Description

This classic Fantasy Fudge Recipe is the perfect treat for any occasion! Made with semi-sweet chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, and chopped walnuts, it’s an easy-to-make, creamy, and indulgent dessert. Perfect for holiday gift-giving or a sweet snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup margarine (BlueBonnet brand used)
  • ⅔ cup evaporated milk
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (Nestle Toll House brand used)
  • 7 ounces jar marshmallow creme (Jet-Puff brand used)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Prepare the pan: Line a 9×13-inch straight-sided baking pan with parchment paper, leaving extra paper to overhang for easy removal of the fudge.
  • Make the sugar mixture: In a 3-4 quart saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, margarine, and evaporated milk. Stir to combine and cook, stirring constantly, for 5-8 minutes until the mixture reaches a rolling boil.
  • Cook at hard boil: Once boiling, cook for exactly 5 minutes, stirring constantly, and then remove from heat.
  • Add chocolate: Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Incorporate marshmallow cream: Add the marshmallow creme and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth and no streaks remain.
  • Add walnuts: Stir in the chopped walnuts.
  • Pour and cool: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly using a small offset spatula.
  • Cool and slice: Allow the fudge to cool completely before lifting it from the pan and slicing it into 1×1-inch square pieces.

Notes

  • Ensure to stir constantly during the boiling process to prevent burning or separation.
  • For a creamier fudge, you can substitute the margarine with butter.
  • You can also try adding other mix-ins like peanut butter or dried fruit for a twist on this classic recipe.
