Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In another shallow dish, beat the eggs.
- Dredge each chicken breast first in the flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat in the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to make sure the coating sticks.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Assemble and Serve:
- Place the cooked Parmesan crusted chicken breasts on plates and spoon the creamy garlic sauce over the top.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Serve with a side of roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a green salad for a complete meal.
- If you prefer a lighter option, you can bake the coated chicken breasts in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- You can use chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts for a juicier option.
