  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 16 large marshmallows (or 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients: Measure all ingredients ahead of time. If using large marshmallows, cut them into smaller pieces for quicker melting.
  • Combine Milk, Sugar, and Salt: In a medium saucepan, mix evaporated milk, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir well and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  • Add Marshmallows and Chocolate: Once boiling, add marshmallows and chocolate chips. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  • Add Vanilla and Nuts: Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract and, if desired, chopped nuts.
  • Set the Fudge: Pour the mixture into a greased or lined 8×8-inch baking dish. Spread evenly and let it cool at room temperature until set, about 1 hour. Refrigeration can speed up this process.
