Ingredients

Scale

For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

For the Peach Butter:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/4 cup peach preserves or peach jam

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Make the Peach Butter:

    • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, peach preserves, ground cinnamon, and honey (if using).

    • Stir until smooth and well combined. Set aside.

  2. Prepare the Biscuits:

    • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

    • In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

    • Add the cubed cold butter and use a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers to incorporate the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

    • Gradually add the buttermilk and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix the dough.

  3. Shape and Bake the Biscuits:

    • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.

    • Roll the dough out to about 1-inch thickness.

    • Use a round biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them in a greased 9×9-inch baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

    • Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.

  4. Serve the Biscuits:

    • Once the biscuits are baked, remove them from the oven and immediately spoon a generous amount of peach butter over the warm biscuits.

    • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • These biscuits are best served warm, straight out of the oven.

  • For an even more intense peach flavor, you can drizzle extra peach preserves on top after the peach butter is applied.

  • If you don’t have buttermilk, you can substitute with regular milk mixed with a teaspoon of lemon juice or vinegar.
