Ingredients
For the Biscuits:
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 tablespoon baking powder
-
1 tablespoon sugar
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
-
3/4 cup buttermilk
For the Peach Butter:
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
-
1/4 cup peach preserves or peach jam
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1 tablespoon honey (optional for extra sweetness)
Instructions
-
Make the Peach Butter:
-
In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, peach preserves, ground cinnamon, and honey (if using).
-
Stir until smooth and well combined. Set aside.
-
-
Prepare the Biscuits:
-
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
-
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
-
Add the cubed cold butter and use a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers to incorporate the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
-
Gradually add the buttermilk and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix the dough.
-
-
Shape and Bake the Biscuits:
-
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times to bring it together.
-
Roll the dough out to about 1-inch thickness.
-
Use a round biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them in a greased 9×9-inch baking dish or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
-
Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
-
-
Serve the Biscuits:
-
Once the biscuits are baked, remove them from the oven and immediately spoon a generous amount of peach butter over the warm biscuits.
-
Serve hot and enjoy!
-
Notes
-
These biscuits are best served warm, straight out of the oven.
-
For an even more intense peach flavor, you can drizzle extra peach preserves on top after the peach butter is applied.
-
If you don’t have buttermilk, you can substitute with regular milk mixed with a teaspoon of lemon juice or vinegar.
