Description

Peanut Butter Blossoms are soft peanut butter cookies topped with a chocolate kiss. These delightful treats are perfect for holiday baking or any time you’re craving a sweet snack, combining the nutty flavor of peanut butter with rich chocolate in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cookies:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Topping:

  • 2430 chocolate kisses (unwrapped)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the Wet Ingredients: Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Combine the Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the peanut butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Shape the Dough: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each dough ball in granulated sugar to coat. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake the Cookies: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  • Add the Chocolate Kisses: As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. The cookies will crack slightly around the edges—this is normal.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure your butter is softened but not melted to prevent spreading.
  • The cookies should be slightly soft in the center when you take them out of the oven; they will firm up as they cool.
  • If using natural peanut butter, be sure to stir it well before using.
