Description

These Pecan Pie Brownies are a delightful combination of rich, fudgy brownies topped with a sweet and gooey pecan pie filling. Perfect for dessert lovers, this recipe merges two classic treats into one decadent dessert. Easy to make and incredibly satisfying, these brownies are sure to impress your family and friends!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box brownie mix (must have instructions for making in a 13x9 inch pan + ingredients listed on the package)

For the Pecan Pie Filling:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecans, roughly chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven according to the brownie package instructions.
  • Prepare the Pecan Pie Filling: In a small saucepan, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, butter, and vanilla extract. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and cook, stirring continuously.
  • Mix the Brownies: Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions. Pour the brownie batter into a greased 13×9 inch baking pan and bake for 20 minutes. See note about cooking time below.
  • Thicken the Filling: As the brownies bake, continue cooking the filling in the saucepan until it thickens enough to coat your spoon (about 15 minutes). Stir in the chopped pecans and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mixture reaches the consistency of runny oatmeal.
  • Combine and Bake: Once the brownies have finished pre-baking, remove them from the oven and pour the pecan pie filling over the brownies, spreading it evenly to cover them completely. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the filling jiggles slightly in the center when you move the pan.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the brownies cool to room temperature before cutting into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Ensure the brownie base is slightly underbaked for a fudgy texture.
  • The filling should be thick but pourable; if it gets too thick, remove it from heat before adding the pecans.
