- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1/2 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1/2 cup pesto (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet or pizza stone with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until slightly golden. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In the same pan, crumble and cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the pesto evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
- Arrange the sautéed potatoes and cooked sausage on top of the pesto-covered dough.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the toppings.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can drizzle a bit of olive oil or more pesto on top of the pizza before serving.
- If you prefer a spicier pizza, add some red pepper flakes or spicy Italian sausage.
