Description

This flavorful dish combines hard-boiled eggs, smoked sausage, and spicy jalapeños, all pickled in a tangy brine. It’s a unique and savory snack perfect for gatherings, parties, or as a delicious addition to your charcuterie board.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 dozen hard-boiled eggs, peeled
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced jalapeños
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds

Instructions

  • In a large jar or container, layer the hard-boiled eggs, sliced sausage, and thinly sliced jalapeños.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the apple cider vinegar, water, sugar, salt, mustard seeds, and celery seeds. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar and salt dissolve.
  • Pour the hot brine over the eggs, sausage, and jalapeños, ensuring everything is submerged.
  • Cover the jar or container and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of jalapeños.
