  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 23 cups milk (whole milk works best)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Red pepper flakes, optional
  • 1 tsp crushed garlic, optional (for added flavor)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks. Cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once the sausage is browned, sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
  3. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly, until the gravy begins to thicken (about 5 minutes). You can add more milk to achieve your desired gravy consistency.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add red pepper flakes or garlic, if desired.
  5. Continue stirring until the gravy reaches a smooth and thick consistency.
  6. Serve immediately over warm biscuits.
