- Garlic Butter Spread:
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Sandwich:
- 4 slices bread
- ¼ cup pizza sauce (plus more for dipping, if desired)
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup shredded Parmesan or mozzarella cheese
- 16 slices pepperoni
Instructions
- Make the Garlic Butter Spread:
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir well to combine and set aside.
- Assemble the Sandwiches:
- Lay the slices of bread on a flat surface. Spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce in a thin layer on each slice.
- Place one slice of cheese on each slice of bread. Add 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese to two of the slices.
- Top the two slices with shredded cheese with 8 pepperoni slices each.
- Place one piece of bread on top of the other to form a sandwich. Repeat the process with the remaining bread to create a second sandwich.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each sandwich.
- Cook the Sandwiches:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the buttered side of each sandwich face down in the skillet. Spread the remaining butter mixture on the tops of each sandwich.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
