For the Dough:

- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for a savory touch)
For the Cinnamon Sugar:
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
For the Icing:
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes, until it becomes foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and stir to form a dough. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 30-60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips (about 12-16 depending on your preference for thickness).
- Place the strips on a greased baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the dough is baking, mix the cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl.
- Once the cinnamon sticks are done, remove them from the oven and immediately brush with melted butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle this icing over the cinnamon sticks before serving.
- Serve warm and enjoy!

- For an extra buttery flavor, you can add 2 tablespoons of melted butter into the dough before kneading.
