Description

  • Pizza Pull-Apart Bread is a fun twist on pizza, served as an irresistible, cheesy, pull-apart loaf! Packed with pepperoni, mozzarella, and pizza sauce, it’s a perfect snack or appetizer for game day, parties, or family gatherings. Serve it with a side of marinara for dipping!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of Italian bread (or French bread)

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (or more, depending on your preference)

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bread:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the loaf of bread in a crisscross pattern, creating a grid of squares. Be sure not to cut all the way through the bottom of the loaf so that the bread stays intact. You want to cut deep into the bread without fully separating the pieces.

  2. Add the Butter and Seasoning:
Brush the inside of each slice with the melted butter. Make sure to get the butter into all the crevices of the bread. Sprinkle the garlic powder, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) evenly over the cut bread.

  3. Add the Cheese and Pepperoni:
Stuff the shredded mozzarella cheese and Parmesan into each cut of the bread. You can tuck a few slices of pepperoni between the layers of cheese and bread to ensure each piece is filled with cheesy, pepperoni goodness.

  4. Wrap and Bake:
Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is heated through and the cheese is melted.

  5. Serve:
After baking, remove the bread from the oven and unwrap the foil. Serve the bread hot with a side of pizza sauce for dipping. Enjoy pulling apart each gooey, cheesy piece!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add more toppings like sautéed onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms to the bread, in addition to the pepperoni.

  • To make this vegetarian, simply omit the pepperoni and add extra veggies or other favorite pizza toppings.

  • If you like a crunchier crust, unwrap the bread for the last 5 minutes of baking.
