Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (ribeye, flank, or sirloin), cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
- Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
- Add the steak cubes to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated steak cubes onto skewers.
- Grill the skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the steak reaches your desired level of doneness.
- In the last minute of grilling, spoon a little marinara sauce over each steak skewer and top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Close the lid to melt the cheese, about 1-2 minutes.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
- Serve hot with additional marinara sauce for dipping, if desired!
Notes
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- For extra flavor, you can grill some vegetables like bell peppers or onions along with the steak skewers.
- To make this a full meal, serve with a side of garlic bread or a fresh salad.
- Adjust the marinara sauce and cheese amounts to your liking!
