Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup bubble gum base (available online or at candy supply stores)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Pop Rocks candy (flavor of your choice), about 1/4 cup
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup or glucose syrup
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Food-grade gum flavoring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a clean, flat surface dusted with powdered sugar.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the bubble gum base in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until soft and pliable.
  3. Add the corn syrup and granulated sugar to the melted gum base and mix thoroughly.
  4. If using, add a few drops of food-grade gum flavoring and stir well.
  5. Allow the gum mixture to cool slightly but remain pliable.
  6. Roll the gum into small balls or flatten into pieces on the powdered sugar-dusted surface.
  7. Just before the gum fully sets, gently press Pop Rocks candy onto or into the gum pieces to incorporate the popping candy.
  8. Let the gum cool completely and store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Pop Rocks can lose their fizz if exposed to moisture, so add them last and store the gum properly.
