Description

Praline Crunch is a sweet, crunchy snack that combines Crispix cereal, salted pecans, and a homemade praline coating. This irresistible treat is perfect for gatherings, road trips, or just satisfying your sweet tooth. Its addictive caramelized texture makes it a go-to snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups Crispix cereal 🥣
  • 2 cups pecan halves (salted) 🥜
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar 🍬
  • ½ cup corn syrup 🍯
  • ½ cup butter 🧈
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
  • ½ tsp baking soda 🧪

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oven: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  • Mix Cereal and Pecans: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Crispix cereal and salted pecan halves.
  • Make the Praline Coating: In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Stir occasionally and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat, then add the vanilla extract and baking soda. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and foamy.
  • Coat the Cereal: Pour the praline mixture over the cereal and pecans, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  • Bake: Spread the coated mixture into a 9×13-inch baking pan. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes to ensure even coating.
  • Cool and Serve: Once done, spread the mixture onto wax or parchment paper to cool completely. Once cooled, break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

  • To add a salty contrast, use salted pecans or add a sprinkle of sea salt before baking.
  • For a richer flavor, you can use dark corn syrup instead of light corn syrup.
  • Be sure to stir every 20 minutes during baking to ensure the mixture coats the cereal evenly and prevents burning.
