Description

These Pretzel Oreo Balls are a delightful treat that combines the rich flavors of crushed Oreos and cream cheese with a gooey salted caramel center, all encased in a smooth chocolate coating. Topped with extra caramel and crushed pretzels, these decadent bites are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cookie Dough:

  • 1 bag Oreos (36 cookies)
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cups pretzels (about 2 oz.)
  • 12 oz. candy coating (Ghirardelli White & Dark Chocolate Melting Wafers recommended)
  • 1 batch homemade salted caramel (stored in a condiment squeeze bottle)

For Toppings:

  • Homemade salted caramel
  • Crushed pretzels

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oreo Crumble:
    • Finely crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor until they reach a sandy texture.
    • Transfer the crushed Oreos to a stand mixer or a large mixing bowl.
  • Crush the Pretzels:
    • Pulse the pretzels in the food processor until chopped into small pieces.
  • Form the Dough:
    • Add cream cheese to the crushed Oreos and mix until a dough forms.
    • Incorporate the crushed pretzels into the Oreo dough until well blended.
  • Shape the Balls:
    • Scoop out 1 heaping tablespoon of dough at a time.
    • Roll into balls, then flatten into disks. Place on parchment paper.
  • Add the Caramel Filling:
    • Squeeze about ½ teaspoon of caramel onto the center of each disk.
  • Seal and Roll:
    • Fold sides of the disk over the caramel and roll into a ball.
    • Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Freeze:
    • Freeze the tray of Oreo balls for about 1 hour, or until very firm.
  • Coat with Candy:
    • Melt the candy coating according to package instructions.
    • Roll each ball in the melted coating and place back on parchment paper.
  • Add the Final Touch:
    • Drizzle with additional caramel and sprinkle with crushed pretzels.
  • Serve:
    • Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Make sure the Oreo balls are completely frozen before coating to ensure a smooth coating.
  • For easier caramel drizzling, warm the caramel bottle slightly before use.
