Description

These Pull Apart Cheeseburger Sliders are the ultimate party appetizer or weeknight dinner. Soft slider buns stuffed with juicy ground beef, melted cheese, and all the classic cheeseburger fixings. Baked together for a deliciously gooey, pull-apart texture that’s perfect for sharing!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sliders:

  • 12 slider buns (Hawaiian or soft dinner rolls work best)
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or American cheese slices)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Topping:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley (optional)

For the Burger Toppings (Optional):

  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Pickles
  • Additional ketchup or mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the Meat:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat. Break up the beef with a spoon as it cooks. Stir occasionally until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup (if using), garlic powder, mustard (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the Sliders:
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms intact. Place the bottom halves of the buns in the prepared baking dish.
Evenly spread the cooked beef mixture on top of the bottom buns. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese and beef, pressing gently to compact.
  4. Make the Topping:
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, sesame seeds (if using), onion powder, garlic powder, and parsley (if using). Brush this mixture evenly over the top of the assembled sliders.
  5. Bake the Sliders:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the buns are golden and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve:
Once done, remove the sliders from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Slice the sliders along the seams and serve with optional toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, and extra ketchup or mustard.

Notes

  • Beef Variations: You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option, though the flavor will be slightly different.
  • Cheese Variations: Feel free to use your favorite cheese, such as American, Swiss, or mozzarella, for different flavors.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the sliders in advance and refrigerate them, then bake just before serving.
  • Add-ins: For extra flavor, add cooked bacon or sautéed mushrooms to the beef mixture.
