Description
Pumpkin Oreo Balls are a festive no-bake treat perfect for Halloween or autumn celebrations. These bite-sized desserts feature a creamy mixture of crushed Oreos and cream cheese, coated in orange candy melts, and topped with pretzel sticks and green leaf decorations to resemble adorable little pumpkins.
Ingredients
Scale
- 36 Oreo cookies (regular or gluten-free)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 12 oz orange candy melts
- Pretzel sticks (for stems)
- Green leaf icing decorations (or green M&Ms)
Instructions
- Crush the Oreos: In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs.
- Mix with Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and mix until fully combined.
- Form into Balls: Use a small cookie scoop to form the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Shape into Pumpkins: After chilling, use a toothpick to gently score lines on the Oreo balls to resemble pumpkins. Chill for an additional 10 minutes.
- Melt Candy Melts: In a microwave or double boiler, melt the orange candy melts according to the package instructions.
- Dip the Oreo Balls: Dip each pumpkin-shaped Oreo ball into the melted candy coating, shake off the excess, and place back on the parchment-lined sheet.
- Decorate: Quickly add a small pretzel stick for the stem and a green leaf icing decoration or green M&M for the leaf before the coating sets.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the pumpkin Oreo balls until firm, then serve.
Notes
- For the best results, make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to blend easily with the crushed Oreos.
- Work quickly when adding decorations to the melted candy to prevent it from setting too soon.
