Description

This indulgent Red Velvet Cheesecake Trifle is a show-stopping dessert that layers moist red velvet cake with creamy cheesecake filling and whipped cream. Perfect for any celebration or a special treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (plus ingredients to make the cake as directed)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

  • Fresh raspberries or strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red velvet cake according to the box instructions and let it cool completely.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Cut the cooled red velvet cake into small cubes.
  5. In a large trifle dish, layer the red velvet cake cubes, followed by a layer of the cheesecake mixture, and then a layer of whipped cream.
  6. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.
  7. Garnish with mini chocolate chips and fresh berries, if desired.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

  • You can substitute homemade red velvet cake if preferred.
  • For added flavor, you can drizzle a little chocolate or raspberry sauce between layers.

  • Be sure to let the trifle chill to allow the flavors to meld together.
