Description
This Reese’s Peanut Butter Banana Bread is a decadent twist on the classic banana bread. Packed with ripe bananas, peanut butter, and chunks of Reese’s peanut butter cups, it’s a sweet and savory treat that’s perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2–3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (optional)
- 4–5 mini Reese’s peanut butter cups, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts (optional, for extra crunch)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix until everything is well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream (or yogurt), and mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups. If using, fold in the chopped peanuts as well.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean or with just a few crumbs.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and enjoy! Serve with a dollop of peanut butter or a drizzle of melted chocolate if desired.
Notes
- For a richer peanut butter flavor, you can swirl additional peanut butter into the batter before baking.
- This banana bread can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days, or refrigerated for up to a week.
- If you prefer a lighter loaf, you can substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
- Add a few extra Reese’s peanut butter cups to the top of the batter before baking for a more decadent finish.
