Ingredients
Scale
- For the Peanut Butter Base:
- 1 cup (240g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups (500g) graham cracker crumbs
- 2 cups (500g) powdered sugar
- 1 1/4 cups (320g) creamy peanut butter
- For the Chocolate Topping:
- 1 1/2 cups (265g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup (65g) creamy peanut butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan:
Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a slight overhang on the sides for easy removal once the bars have set. Set aside. - Make the Peanut Butter Base:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and 1 1/4 cups of creamy peanut butter. Mix until fully combined and smooth. - Spread the Base:
Press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula to ensure a compact layer. - Prepare the Chocolate Topping:
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth. - Layer the Chocolate:
Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the peanut butter base in the pan. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate evenly over the top. - Chill:
Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is firm and set. - Slice and Serve:
Once the bars are set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift them out of the pan. Slice the bars into squares or rectangles and serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- These bars are best when chilled to ensure the chocolate topping firms up properly.
- You can adjust the sweetness by using milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chocolate chips if you prefer a sweeter bar.
- If you want a thicker chocolate topping, feel free to add more chocolate chips to the topping mixture.
- For a different flavor, you can add crushed peanuts on top or stir them into the peanut butter base.
