Description

This Reese’s Swirl Cool Whip and Pudding Frosting is a creamy, decadent frosting with a rich peanut butter and chocolate flavor, swirled together with Cool Whip for extra fluffiness. Perfect for topping cakes, cupcakes, or even as a dip for fruits and cookies! This easy-to-make frosting will be a hit at any party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 (8 oz) tub of whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies (about 4050 cookies)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes, until it thickens.
  2. Add whipped topping: Fold in the whipped topping and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  3. Layer the dessert: In a trifle dish or large bowl, layer the ingredients starting with a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom. Then, add a layer of pudding mixture, followed by sliced bananas and strawberries. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of pudding on top.
  4. Chill: Cover the pudding and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best) to allow the flavors to meld together and the wafers to soften.
  5. Serve: Once chilled, serve chilled, garnished with extra banana slices and strawberries if desired.

Notes

  • You can use fresh whipped cream instead of whipped topping for a more homemade touch.
  • If you want a lighter version, you can substitute the pudding mix with sugar-free options and use low-fat whipped topping.
  • You can also add a layer of chocolate chips or a drizzle of chocolate syrup for a chocolatey twist.
