These Ricotta Crostini with Figs & Prosciutto are a delicious, savory-sweet appetizer perfect for any occasion. The creamy ricotta, sweet figs, and savory prosciutto on crispy toast make for an irresistible bite!

For the Crostini:
- 1 French baguette or ciabatta, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Topping:
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 6 fresh figs, sliced (or 1 cup dried figs, chopped)
- 6 slices prosciutto, torn into smaller pieces
- Fresh thyme or basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Crostini:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange the baguette or ciabatta slices on a baking sheet. Brush both sides of the bread with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Toast in the oven for 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy. - Prepare the Ricotta Topping:
In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese with honey. Stir until smooth and well-mixed. You can add more honey to taste depending on how sweet you prefer the ricotta. - Assemble the Crostini:
Once the crostini are toasted and cooled slightly, spread a generous amount of ricotta mixture onto each slice. - Top with Figs and Prosciutto:
Arrange the fig slices on top of the ricotta. If using dried figs, chop them into small pieces and sprinkle them over the ricotta.
Tear the prosciutto into smaller pieces and place on top of the figs. -
- Garnish and Serve:
Garnish the crostini with fresh thyme or basil leaves for an added flavor and a pop of color. Serve immediately and enjoy!

- If fresh figs are out of season, you can substitute with dried figs, which work wonderfully as well.
- To make the crostini even more indulgent, drizzle a little extra honey or balsamic glaze over the finished crostini before serving.
